The Alert System
Even before starting the official show, Koop imagined it being as interactive as possible. As the first season transpired, he quickly got to work creating a means of viewers to interact with the show via the show's website. The first iteration of "The Alert System" was based off of 2 buttons found under the streaming video displayed on the site's landing page: "Don't Be THAT Stream" and "It's Time For Sweet Cinamonz!". Clicking on either of these buttons during the show would have a resulting response. Koop enlisted Jason to pretty-up the appearance of the buttons as well as the resulting responses. The "Don't Be THAT Stream" button would instantly display on the stream a short animation (lasting just a few seconds) of Anna Kendrick seemingly repulsed and/or confused by something, which was intended to steer Koop back on course should he start to get off-off-topic or started saying something that some would deem inappropriate for the stream. For "It's Time For Sweet Cinamonz!" each viewer's click would go towards a vote towards a goal number of votes. Once the target votes have been reached, the show's feed would include another animation of Jason's design in which a bottle of Sweet Cinamonz danced around the screen and blew up in a loop. This animation let whoever was on the show that night to feel free to take part in a shot of Sweet Cinamonz ("Fireball" brand) cinnamon whisky. As time went on, Koop continued to used his software programming knowledge (his day job) and minimal electronics expertise he had to create a means for a more physical notification system for the folks behind the camera. This led to Koop using an old Raspberry Pi pc in collaboration with it's built-in IO ports to trigger the lighting of a colored LED strip (Red for Don't Be THAT Stream and blue for Sweet Cinamonz).
